Body Donation

Our knowledge of the human body has made medical science capable of rising worldwide life expectancy from under 30 in the 17th century to well above 70 today. How do we know about what we know about the human body? Most of our knowledge comes from observing dead bodies or the cadavers. For a person after death, there would be no use of the body but it can be used for the science and betterment of the future of medical science, The dead bodies or the cadavers, are very important for medical study and those who donate are like a blessing for the future of humanity.
Extreme shortage: Only 5 bodies in 50 years
With the attendant rise of the number of medical colleges in India over the past few decades, the demand for cadavers used in medical education and research is growing. We found that medical colleges aren’t getting sufficient numbers of bodies for their students to do practicals.
To get an idea of the situation, we observed that the medical college of Raipur had received only 5 bodies during its 50 years of establishment. Having already started with eye donation, we came forward to help medical institutes with this situation.
Aim to fulfill the countries requirements
We strongly believe that charity begins at home, therefore the very first body donated was that of the mother of our founder Late Mr. Anil Gurbaxani. With the efforts of the organization 153 bodies have been donated to various medical research centers of Chhattisgarh during the past 12 years. The bodies have been delivered at medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha & we are also eager to get this model of service to other states of India.
